Win a FREE Syntor X mobile radio :
I currently have a number of Syntor X radios which use an unusual key. This key is NOT the normal "2135" key that works with almost every Motorola mobile radio I have ever had. This key closely resembles the MOT-1 key (i.e. used the same key blank at the MOT-1 key) but is NOT a MOT-1 key. A MOT-1 key fits into the lock but will not operate the lock. Several of these radios were equipped with Siren, HHCH, and DVP units. Apparently the same key is used on the Siren and HHCH interface boxes.
I have been told (by the people I purchased these radios from) that these radios were originally in use by the FBI -- which probably explains the unusual key (though I have had some other Syntor X radios that were also supposed to have been in use by the FBI which use the normal 2135 key).
SO -- I will provide a FREE Syntor X mobile radio "drawer unit" to the first person who can provide me with a key that fits these radios -- or information that will allow me to have a key made to fit these radios. This radio will be programmed to the frequencies specified by the winner (the radio can be programmed for up to 64 "modes" -- the channel frequencies, squelch codes, etc.). The radio will be fully tested prior to shipment, guaranteed not to be "DOA" -- and shipped to the winner at my expense. Note that this prize is the "drawer unit" only and NO accessories are included (control cables, control head, speaker, microphone, fuses, etc.), but these are fairly easy to find on eBay, at hamfests, etc.
This prize goes to the FIRST person only. In the unlikely event that there is a tie, I will randomly select the winner.
Before you send a key, contact me to find out if someone else has already won the prize. If you only have one of these keys, but sure to have a duplicate made before sending the key to me.
The image below shows a close up view of the lock on one of these radios.
